I woke up at 4:00 AM because of the sound of the heavy rain hitting the wooden house I am sleeping in . I'm in Laos/Vietnam border crossing waiting for it to open in 7:00 AM, you probably ask why Laos/Vietnam border crossing and not Laos/Cambodia right? so here is the thing. Crossing from Laos to Cambodia with a Vietnamese licence plates isn't recommended. The Cambodian officers let you in, but your motorcycle not, in this case you can't go back to Laos, the only way to go is to Cambodia and your motorcycle is stuck between 2 countries. They take your motorcycle and sell it. So Crossing from Laos to Cambodia needs to be done through Vietnam. At 7:00 AM I crossed from Laos to Vietnam, the GPS shows another 180 KM to the Vietnam/Cambodia border crossing. The moment I crossed it started to rain, it wasn't enough and 10 KM later the road turned to off road, full of stones and mud. I got to the Cambodian border crossing in 3:00 PM, almost 8 hours to drive 180 KM, yes, it was tough but I was tougher. At 4:00 PM I was in Cambodia, the closest town was 180 KM away, I got to the town at 6:00 PM in was almost dark and I'm driving for almost 12 hours already. I was exhausted but I wanted to continue driving so much, like something in my mind told to keep moving, bought some carrots for food, spare fuel and i was on my way to Phnom Penh the capital of Cambodia. About 480 KM to the destination, in the dark night of Cambodia. I got to Phnom Penh at 3:45 AM took me about 8:30 hours and I could tell you that it was one of the most challenging mental experience I had in my life. I still don't know how I drove through 3 counties, 2 border crossings, lots of bad weather, dirty and tired in 21 hours without stopping. Maybe in another time, i'll make a video and tell you the full crazy story. My mission wasn't to explore Cambodia and drive to every place, I just wanted to go to the beach!!! Probably Philippines made me miss the ocean too much. From Phnom Penh I got to Kampot, didn't do much there, 2 days later I took a ferry to the Cambodian islands called Koh Rong Samloem, and Koh Rong. Koh Rong Samloem island is more quit, chilly island and wild. I stayed in a bangalow 15 meters off the beach, this place is a true heaven. The beaches are clean and wide open, the sand is snow white and the vibe is so cool and chilly. 5 days later a fast boat took me to Koh Rong, I didn't like it at all. The islands is too crowded, everyone is high, weed and drugs are everywhere. It's kinda party island but I don't know, I didn't like the vibe there. 2 nights were more than enough for me. Next was Siem Reap, the temples city. It actually was my last destination of the trip. I was sad and happy at the same time. I stayed there in a hostel called "Pub Hostel" I enjoyed there so much and they deserve all the respect! Woke up early in the morning to see the sunrise over the Angkor Watt temples, thanks to the cloudy weather we couldn't see anything but fog. This place is so big, interesting and amazing! It's a must to visit there ! I stayed 7 days in Siem Reap met so new and old friends, we had some funny nights in the streets. I have planned to ship my motorcycle to my home in Israel but it costs too much. One of the managers of the hostel gave me a permission to lock up my motorcycle and they will keep it for me, until I pick it up one day.
